WA Over Newton South

Returning to league play, WA (3-1 DCL, 4-3 Overall) defeated Newton South (2-3 DCL, 2-5 overall) 81-53 in a solid all-around effort. Sophomore Alex Haines led all scorers with 16 points and 5 Rebounds. Captain Colin McLaughlin had a solid outing at point with 6 points and 6 assists. Senior guard Kellen Regan added 13 points (3-3's) with Captain Brian Schmidtberg (10 points and 5 Rebounds) and Sophomore Peter Lynch (12 points and 12 rebounds) helping in the victory. A solid effort by the bench allowed the Ghosts to record the win. WA travels to Boston Latin (4-0 DCL 7-1 Overall) for a Friday night contest.

Buzzer Beater Over WA

Boston Latin (5-0 DCL 7-1) hit an inbound shot with time expiring to take a 64-63 win over visiting WA. Alex Haines led all Westford scorers with 20 points (16 Rebounds and 5 blocks) while Peter Lynch had 14 points (7 rebounds and 3 Blocks)and Brian Schmidtberg added 12 points (8 Rebounds).

Westford Rebounds

After a tough loss to league leader Boston Latin on Friday(64-63), WA rebounded with a 61-43 road win over Weston. Sophomore Alex Haines led all scorers with 17 points and a season high 19 rebounds with 6 blocks. Senior Captain Brian Schmidtberg (5 rebounds) and Sophomore forward Peter Lynch (9 rebounds) both added 14 points. Kellen Regan and Collin Cusano rounded out the scoring for WA. WA begins an important home stretch with games Friday (Concord), Sunday (Chelmsford), and Tuesday (Bedford).


CC 48 WA 43

CC defeated WA 48-43. Kellen Regan led all Westford scores with 12 points while Brian Schmidtberg had 10 and Alex Haines added 8.

WA TOPS CHS

Peter Lynch had 16 points (14 Rebounds and 2 Blocks while Collin Cusano added 10 points in a 67-48 win. A strong bench effort contributed to the non-keague victory.

Bedford Over WA

Bedford defeats WA 58-54, Peter Lynch was high scorer for WA with 20 points (9 rebounds) while Kellen Regan added 14 points. WA falls to 4-4 DCL and 6-6 overall.

WA Over Wayland

WA defeats Wayland, 68-58, in front of a great Friday night crowd. Peter Lynch led WA with 19 points and 10 rebounds while Brian Schmidtberg added 16.

WA UPSETS LS

WA upsets LS 52-47 in a rematch from an opening night Westford loss. Peter Lynch had 12 points (7 Rebounds), Alex Haines 10 points (9 rebounds) and Kellen Regan added 8 points with 5 boards. Colin Royal sparked off the bench with 11 points (3 3-pointers) to help WA defeat first-place Lincoln Sudbury.


3rd Grade Clinic a Hit


Over 80 3rd grade recreational basketball players attended a clinic sponsored by the Westford Receational Basketball League and Westford Academy Basketball. WA varsity players helped in station work and a scrimmage at the end. Thanks to Mr. Ken Teal and Mr. Frank Fulling for inviting us to help out. Also, thanks to all the players who participated in the clinic and recently attended a WA Varsity basketball game!





WA TOPS AB

WA defeated AB 55-48 for its 3rd win in a row. Brian Schmidtberg led all scorers with 18 points, while Peter Lynch added 13 and Alex Haines 11. WA is now 9-6 overall and 7-4 Overall.
