Road Win

WA defeated Wayland, 79-64, for a nice road win. Junior Peter Lynch was high scorer for both teams with 26 points (17 rebounds),while sophomore TJ Jann added 24 points and junior Alex Haines (back from injury) contributed 11 points and 10 rebounds. Marc Napolitana had 8 points and did a solid job controlling the tempo of the game.

AB ROLLS OVER WA

AB was up by 20 at half and never looked back in an impressive 82-58 victory over WA. TJ Jann was Westford's only scorer in doubles with 12 points with 6 rebounds. Tom Courtney had 9 points while Marc Napolitana added 8. The Ghost return to home action and host Weston Friday night.

Weston Over WA

Weston outscored WA 28-16 in the 4th quarter to defeat the Ghosts 77-73 on their home court. Weston's Sophomore Bashir Hudson had a 46 point outing, hitting 9 two's, 4 three's, and going 16-19 from the Free Throw line. Peter Lynch led the Westford attack with 31 points while Marc Napolitana added 18 and TJ Jann hit for 9.

Lynch, Haines, and Jann Selected for DCL All-Stars

Juniors Peter Lynch and Alex Haines, along with Sophomore TJ Jann were selected to represent the Large School Division in the DCL All-Star game. The All-Star game will be held at Westford Academy on Saturday, February 16, 2008 at 7:30pm. Peter Tongo (AB) was selected as the MVP of the Large School DCL while Jerry Cohen (Bedford) was MVP of the DCL Small School. This year the format will be large school vs. small school with the traditional slam dunk contest at half time. Congrats to Peter, Alex, and TJ. It was also announced that the DCL coaches voted WA as the Sportsmanship Award winner!

BEDFORD WINS

WA played well, but Bedford (Small School Champs), held off the Ghosts for a 76-73 win. Bedford's Terrance Favors led all scorers with 31 points while WA's sophomore TJ Jann had 27 points and 10 rebounds. Junior Peter Lynch added 21 points for WA (10 rebounds) while Senior Captains Marc Napolitana (9 points)and Colin Royal (7 points) played well for the Ghosts.. WA host Boston Latin on Friday night.

BL TOPS WA

BL (DCL Large School Champions) defeated WA in it's final regular season game 63-58. Sophomore TJ Jann scored 23 points and grabbed 6 rebounds for Westford (12-8, 4-4 DCL Large. Marc Napolitana added 15 points while Peter Lynch had 11 points and 6 rebounds.

Tournament News

WA (5th seed) will host Latin Academy (12th seed) in first round tournament action on Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at 7:00pm.

First Round Tournament Action

Westford Academy (13-9) defeated Boston Latin Academy (10-11) 65-59 in MIAA Division II North Tournament Action. Junior Peter Lynch led all scorers with 21 points (8 Rebounds) while sophomore TJ Jann added 20 points with 10 rebounds. Junior Alex Haines was outstanding on the boards with 15 rebounds, several in crunch time. Senior Captain Marc Napolitana was solid at the point with 12 points and 6 assists. WA will continue its tournament run and host Arlington Friday night (February 29, 2008) at 7:00pm.
