Lynch scores 1,000

Entering Friday's home game against Newton South, Westford's Peter Lynch needed just seven points to reach the 1,000-point barrier.
The senior averages 21 points per game, so getting seven points should have been a piece of cake, right?

The Lions did an admirable job of keeping Lynch in check, holding him to just ten points on the night. But it was enough for the senior to reach the milestone.

In the end, Westford won the ballgame, 89-77.
"It was nice to see Peter hit 1,000," said WA coach Ed Scollan. "In my 23 years as the head coach here only three players have done it. The last player was Zach Ellis back in 2001-02."I am glad he was able to do it at home. There was a big crowd and atmosphere was so positive."

The other story in this game was the play of Jann, who lit up the night with 40 points, hauled down nine rebounds and dished off five assists. Jann also finished the game by shooting 13 for 15 from behind the charity stripe.
Alex Haines played well, pouring in 13 points while hauling down 13 rebounds, and Ellis wrapped the game with 10 points and eight boards.

Westford 81, Lincoln-Sudbury 70

Jann scored 26 points and Lynch added 21 as the Ghosts took care of L-S last Thursday, 81-70, at WA.
Jann drained a total of five three-pointers (5 of 6 from behind the line).
