AB Over WA, Jann Hits 1,000!

AB defeated WA 66-58 in a DCL Large school battle. TJ Jann reached the 1,000 point milestone hitting 23 for the night. Matt Ellis added 9 while Mike Ganley had 9.

TJ Jann becomes the 3rd leading scorer in WA Boy's Basketball behind Marc Tocci (Class of 1999, 1034 points) and Peter Lynch (Class of 2009, 1219 points). Congrats to TJ Jann!

Senior TJ Jann was selected as the DCL Large school Co-MVP with Wes Schroll of AB. Also representing WA in the All Star game will be senior Mike Ganley, junior Mark Cornelius, and sophomore Matt Ellis. The All-Star game will be held at Westford Academy this Saturday, February 13, at 7:30pm. There will be a slam dunk contest at half-time. Congratulations to TJ and Wes as Co-MVPs and to Mike, Mark, and Matt!


WA Defeats Latin

TJ Jann had a solid game with 26 points and 16 rebounds as WA defeated BL 68-56 in DCL Large School make-up action. Mike Ganley added 17 points while Matt Ellis had 10 and Mark Cornelius finished with 9. WA (12-6, 5-3) hosts Newton South tomorrow night (Tuesday, February 9) in Senior Recognition Night.

WA Over NS

On Senior night, Senior Chris Lynch had 20 points and 11 Rebounds in a 73-61 win over NS. Senior TJ Jann had 16 points with 13 rebounds while Mark Cornelius and Mike Ganley added 10 points.

Waltham over WA

Waltham defeated WA in the last regular season game 76-60. Mark Cornelius led WA with 19 while TJ Jann had 15 and Dan Mitchell 10. The Ghosts finish the regular season 13-7 and wait for the Division I North tournament pairings.

Westford Academy (#10 seed) will play Monday night, February 22, at Lexington High School (#7 seed). Game time is set for 7:00pm.

Lexington over WA in 2 OT's


WA ended its season tonight with a 104-96 (2 OT) loss to Middlesex League opponent Lexington. Senior TJ Jann had a night that will remembered for years to come with 43 points. He leaves WA as the 2nd leading scorer in boys' basketball history. TJ also added 17 rebounds to his outstanding performance. Senior Mike Ganley had 17 points, while junior Mark Cornelius contributed 16 and sophomore Matt Ellis added 8 points. Senior Chris Lynch returned from an ankle injury to add 6 along with Andrew Hoch.
