The Newcomers

 

#23 Jake Aylward: Guard - 6’ 1” - Junior

 

My proudest moment on the basketball court is: 

Winning the state championship in 7th grade was my proudest basketball moment.  That was my first year playing Westford Travel Basketball and that experience allowed me to make lifelong friends.

 

My proudest moment outside of basketball is: 

My proudest moment off the basketball court was making the golf team this fall. The team won the DCL and we had a lot of fun at practice. I was also elected to the Dean's Council this fall.

The person I admire the most is: 

The person that I admire the most in my grandfather.  He has encouraged me to work hard (both academically and athletically), to advocate for myself, and to make the best out of any situation.  He is a really great role model.

 

A thing most people don't know about me is:

A thing most people don't know about me is that I watch almost every NFL and college football game each weekend. I also love the beach and a good game of spike ball.

 

Highlight of my semester so far: 

The highlight of my semester so far was winning the DCL title on the golf team. This was a great experience and I was able to meet many new people.

 

A new hobby/activity/interest that I've picked up recently: 

A new hobby I've picked up lately has been to sort my dads old sports cards and sell them. His collection contained football, basketball, hockey and baseball cards.

#3 William Bramanti: Guard - 5’ 10” - Junior

 

My proudest moment on the basketball court is: 

Winning the state championship in middle school back to back years and coming back 15 plus in the  last 3 minutes of the semi- final game. 

 

My proudest moment outside of basketball is: 

Being able to work with little kids in camp shaping the future of WA basketball, having fun and putting a smile on everybody's face. 

 

The person I admire the most is: 

My dad I see how much time and effort he puts in on everything and he makes sure that everything is done perfect the first time. I really look up to him. He is an amazing dad and person, he is a leader in everything and has shown me how to lead on and off the court. 

 

A thing most people don't know about me is:

Some things that most people don't know about me is that I'm kinda nice at cheffing it up in the kitchen, making some mean wings. 

 

Highlight of my semester so far: 

This year hanging around the team, we all have amazing chemistry, having fun and making the most of it as we don't get to play this year. 

 

A new hobby/activity/interest that I've picked up recently: 

The new hobby is definitely cooking. I just enjoy doing it, it's pretty fun and I am pretty good at it, and I cook for my family and friends.

#34 Damien Digiovine: Forward - 6’ 1” - Junior

 

My proudest moment on the basketball court is: 

My proudest moment on the basketball court is making the game sealing 3 against Cambridge last year after a tough, physical JV game.

My proudest moment outside of basketball is: 

My most proud moment outside of basketball was in baseball. I hit 3 home runs in one game in little league baseball at age 11. As nice as that was we still lost the game by 1 which was quite unfortunate.

 

The person I admire the most is: 

My grandfather is the person I admire the most. He fought in WWII as well as graduated from MIT. I am equally impressed and grateful for his ability to unite our family and keep us all together instilling the idea of family above all into all of us.

 

A thing most people don't know about me is:

I am incredibly good at driving bumper boats since I got a job at Kimballs over the summer.

 

Highlight of my semester so far: 

I got to hang around new people because only half of my friends are in my pod as well as there being limits on how many people I can be with outside of school as well.

 

A new hobby/activity/interest that I've picked up recently: 

I started to lift weights since my sports seasons were getting canceled or postponed and I had extra free time. Might see some tomahawk dunks next season with some new hops who knows.

My proudest moment on the basketball court is: 

Winning back to back state championships in middle school.

 

My proudest moment outside of basketball is: 

Going to Haiti to build a house for a family in need. 

 

The person I admire the most is: 

My parents. They push me hard to always do my best, and they are very supportive. 

A thing most people don't know about me is:

I love to surf over the summer and I also like to skimboard.

 

Highlight of my semester so far: 

Playing football at WA with some of my friends.

 

A new hobby/activity/interest that I've picked up recently: 

I’ve recently been walking my dog more.

#22 Sean Brown: Guard - 5’ 8” - Senior

 

My proudest moment on the basketball court is: 

Going 18-2 with the best JV team to ever run through WA. It was the most fun I’ve ever had playing basketball and the best record we’ve ever had as a team.

 

My proudest moment outside of basketball is: 

Making it to Ohio for team USA football tryouts. I got to meet coaches from a lot of colleges and meet great players from all over the country 

 

The person I admire the most is: 

I admire my parents the most. All of their hard work and dedication to their work to be able to provide and care for me and my brothers is amazing. Their unconditional love and support for me and my brothers is something that I have a great appreciation for 

A thing most people don't know about me is:

I really enjoy driving.
 

Highlight of my semester so far: 

Getting into Springfield College. This is one of my top schools and I’ve been talking to the coaches about playing their so I was super excited to get into their school 

 

A new hobby/activity/interest that I've picked up recently: 

I really began to enjoy hiking and going on adventures to cool places around mass and New Hampshire. My buddy’s and I love to go out and find cool trails.

Scott McCabe: Team Manager - Senior

 

My proudest moment on the basketball court is: 

Getting to help out with the varsity team in my sophomore year. 

 

My proudest moment outside of basketball is: 

Getting my first college acceptance to the Umass Amherst business school.

 

The person I admire the most is: 

My parents - they encourage me and support me through everything. 

 

A thing most people don't know about me is:

I was not previously a fan of basketball and did not know much about the sport when I became manager of the team in freshman year. 

 

Highlight of my semester so far: 

Watching football and playing fantasy football with my friends. 

 

A new hobby/activity/interest that I've picked up recently: 

I started to teach myself how to play the piano during the fall. 

 

If a senior, state if you know where you are going 

Likely going to go to a school somewhere in the northeast to study finance. 

#30 Griffin Eddy: Forward - 6’ 5” - Junior

 

My proudest moment on the basketball court is: 

Winning a state championship in travel in 6th and 7th grade

 

My proudest moment outside of basketball is: 

Getting good grades because it shows me that I can do anything I put my mind to. 

 

The person I admire the most is: 

Easily my parents. They push me to the best version of myself. They are also very supportive of me and anything I do.

 

A thing most people don't know about me is:

I have watched the movie Miracle about ten or more times. 

 

Highlight of my semester so far: 

Playing different sports with my friends because it is always great to see them.

 

A new hobby/activity/interest that I've picked up recently: 

I got a new dog and I have taught it many new tricks.

My proudest moment on the basketball court is: 

Winning states back to back in 6th and 7th grade.

 

My proudest moment outside of basketball is: 

Getting high honors in school. Showed my hard work paid off.

 

The person I admire the most is: 

My dad - he has supported me so much my whole life and has shown me how far hard work can get you.

 

A thing most people don't know about me is:

I’m really good at ping pong.

I played a lot of spike-ball over the summer.

My proudest moment on the basketball court is: 

My proudest moment on the basketball court is my 8th grade championship because it was only the schools second school basketball title

 

My proudest moment outside of basketball is: 

My proudest moment outside of basketball is seeing my brother excel in the working environment after graduating from UNH.

 

The person I admire the most is: 

The person I admire the most is my dad because he is an immigrant that worked hard everyday for what he has now and gives me every opportunity to succeed.

 

A thing most people don't know about me is:

A thing most people don't know about me is I love playing any sport even if it's not basketball and I like watching anime.

 

Highlight of my semester so far: 

Highlight of my semester so far was meeting new people and going to the MillWorks with the boys.

 

A new hobby/activity/interest that I've picked up recently: 

A new hobby that I've picked up recently is I'm learning about the stock market, how to compound my investments, and I've been cooking a lot.

#21 Luke Bramanti: Guard - 5’ 10” - Senior

 

My proudest moment on the basketball court is: 

When we beat AB in overtime to make the playoffs, the team made the playoffs for the first time in a few years. The atmosphere after the game in the gym and in the locker room was electric.

 

My proudest moment outside of basketball is: 

Getting one of my graphic design pieces in the WA art show.

 

The person I admire the most is: 

The people I admire the most are my parents. They have been through this journey with me and my siblings forever and they never complain. They have been supportive of me. From waking up early to drive me to a tournament to staying up late making sure I got home safe. 

A thing most people don't know about me is:

I’m a big fan of the Percy Jackson series.

Highlight of my semester so far: 

The highlight of my semester was when me and some other kids on the team were playing pickup at the MillWorks. 

 

A new hobby/activity/interest that I've picked up recently: 

When lockdown started I started to skateboard a lot more. Helps me calm my mind and relax

I plan to go to college (not sure where yet) and major in either sports analytics or sports management.

#14 Owen Bramanti: Forward - 5’ 11” - Senior

 

My proudest moment on the basketball court is: 

When I got MVP chants from the crowd of my classmates during one of the games last year. 

 

My proudest moment outside of basketball is: 

When I received the Westford Academy’s Most Worth Representative Award Sophomore year 

 

The person I admire the most is: 

My dad.  He has shown me how to be selfless by going out of his way to make other people's day better and help others. 

 

A thing most people don't know about me is:

I like to go camping and spending time outdoors even though I don't get to do it often. 

 

Highlight of my semester so far: 

Being able to get to go back to school and reconnect with old friends and make new ones. 

 

A new hobby/activity/interest that I've picked up recently: 

A new hobby i have picked up is playing video games with my brothers

#12 Mike Kennedy: Guard - 5’ 11” - Senior

 

My proudest moment on the basketball court is: 

Beating Acton-Boxboro for the second time last season to go to the playoffs.

 

My proudest moment outside of basketball is: 

Proving my family I'm hard working by waking up at 6 everyday this summer and work about 10 hours a day of moving.

 

The person I admire the most is: 

My papa had always been the guy who I admire. He was a great athlete and person and I strive to be like that.

 

A thing most people don't know about me is:

I’m the best driving to ever step behind the wheel

 

Highlight of my semester so far: 

Making Honor Roll. 

 

A new hobby/activity/interest that I've picked up recently: 

Lifting. I’ve always worked out and liked to get strong but recently I have taken it very seriously to get better.

Something I live by is never let someone work harder than you. Everything is a competition In the world and there are no friends when it comes to competing.

#4 Alex Oakleaf: Guard - 6’ 3” - Senior

 

My proudest moment on the basketball court is: 

My proudest moment on the basketball court was during my junior season. We were playing Acton Boxborough on our home court. I will never forget when that final buzzer sounded and we won the game. The whole team, followed by the entire student section, flooded the court cheering. It was truly an unforgettable moment and felt like a championship win.

 

My proudest moment outside of basketball is: 

Taking challenging courses and maintaining good grades makes me proud because my academic success is important to me. 

The person I admire the most is: 

The two people I admire most are my parents. My dad has always been a great role model because he is a hard worker and has instilled that work ethic in me. He pushes me to always do my best. My mom is compassionate and gives the best advice. I know that I can always count on her to be there for me. I've always looked up to my parents for these reasons and look to them for strength and guidance.

 

A thing most people don't know about me is:

Most people don't know that I love music. I learn the words to songs quickly and will bump the aux when I drive around. 

Highlight of my semester so far: 

Having in-person classes every other week has been the highlight of my semester. It's the last time I'll be able to walk the halls of WA and I appreciate being in school with classmates and teachers. It gives me a sense of normalcy.

 

A new hobby/activity/interest that I've picked up recently: 

I've spent a lot of time landscaping and enjoy it. I started out working for a property manager over the summer and I learned a lot about landscaping. Although it is hard work, there are many benefits from exercising and being outdoors which is why I find it rewarding. 

 

A quotation that you like and/or live by:

If a senior, state if you know where you are going 

After graduating from WA, I will be attending Bridgton Academy to pursue my academic and athletic career.

#13 Matt Rosenstein: Guard - 5’ 10” - Senior

 

My proudest moment on the basketball court is: 

Helping the team win games and earn a playoff game at home.

 

My proudest moment outside of basketball is: 

Getting accepted into Tulane University. It took a lot of hard work over many years, and I am proud I will have the opportunity to study there.

 

The person I admire the most is: 

My dad. He has taught me a lot of things I would never know how to do, and he is always willing to help me no matter how busy he is.

 

A thing most people don't know about me is:

I enjoy being outside and active. It could be walking my dog, going for a run, or just chilling at the beach. I like being outside.

 

Highlight of my semester so far: 

Playing a football game on Thanksgiving with some of my friends. It was fun, and we all went and got food after.

 

A new hobby/activity/interest that I've picked up recently: 

Fishing.  It is relaxing and I get to be outside, so it combines the two things I like.

I will be studying business next year at Tulane University in New Orleans

 

 

#10 Matt Sepe: Forward - 6’ 6” - Senior

 

My proudest moment on the basketball court is: 

Making it to the playoffs last year. It was the first time we made it in the past couple of years, and it was awesome to see the seniors make it for their first time in high school.

 

My proudest moment outside of basketball is: 

I went on a three day hiking trip in the White Mountains. I made it to the summit of several peaks, including Mount Washington. It was definitely a grind, but the feeling and the view at the peak was worth it.

 

The person I admire the most is: 

LeBron James has set a great example for kids that play basketball as well as kids that don’t. He has had a clean record his whole life, gives back to his community, and is one of the best players of all time. I would say I aspire to be like him. 

 

A thing most people don't know about me is:

I wear a size 15 shoe

Highlight of my semester so far: 

Seeing all of my friends that I hadn’t seen in months. Now that we are back at school, I have been able to see people that I hadn’t seen since March. 

 

A new hobby/activity/interest that I've picked up recently: 

I had much more time to get outside during quarantine, and I picked up the hobby of going four wheeling with my dad. We go on trails that we know and sometimes go exploring on trails we don’t know.

If a senior, state if you know where you are going 

I plan to be an undecided major and explore my options for a major my sophomore year. I am not sure where I’ll be attending as of now.
